John asks…
Who makes a good carpet steam cleaning vacuum?
I rent a machine to steam my carpets at home twice a year but I think I just want to buy a steam cleaner. Who makes a good one?

admin answers:
As other posters have said, Hoover makes excellent steam cleaners but you can also consider Bissell because they make several of them handheld (if you just want a steam cleaner for spot cleaning).
Word of advice though, please make sure that it’s a steam cleaner you want, which is easily and frequently confused with a carpet shampooer. I’ve included links to both kinds of vacuums so that you can read up on the pros and cons of each.

Thomas asks…
Are carpet steam cleaning companies all the same?
I really need to get our carpets cleaned and have found a lot of coupons for different companies. The prices look like they vary a lot for the same services. Is there any difference or does everyone have the same tools and will do the same job? Anybody have experience or advice to share on this? Any good companies in Austin, TX?

admin answers:
The equipment works the same but like someone said it also depends on the workers. Try asking around if someone as used a certain company because some of these steam cleaners can ruin your carpets.

Richard asks…
How to get house ready for steam carpet cleaning (“truck-mounted hot-water extraction”)?
I had a list of things to do before the carpet cleaners come, but I’ve lost it. Anyone know what we need to do before they arrive at our messy home?
I’m sure I need to pick up loose items and make sure nothing is on top of furniture, but what else?
Thanks for your replies.
Happy New Year.

I work for Serv Pro. All you really need to do is just make sure that your carpet has been vacumed very well and that there are no small items on the floor. Pack any valuable and breakable items that may be on the table tops yourself to prevent accidental damage. The cleaners will take care of the rest.

Mark asks…
Hai, I want to know which steam mop is best for carpet cleaning for everyday use?
I vacume my carpet 2times a week but still need more cleaning. i listened about steam cleaning, can anyone tell me which one is the best steam cleaner for carpet in australia? thanx

admin answers:
Well if your carpet gets so dirty on a daily basis then I would suggest getting rid of the carpet and replacing it with some other type of flooring, such as wood/laminate, etc. You could still have an ‘easy clean’ rug for comfort.
As for the best steam cleaner…an upright, vacuum cleaner type with several cleaning ‘pads’ would be ok… They tend to become saturated with dirt and water quite quickly ( they’re like a small pad/towel which absorb the steam and dirt coming out of the carpet)
There are also many good wet carpet cleaners, as well as one which use damp sorts of powders which are quick and easy to use (Vorverk (German company) does a type like this which is quite good!)
