How do I get candle wax out of the padding under the carpet?
A candle of mine melted a hole out the side and leaked a TON of wax out onto the table and floor. I would say a good 5-6 ounces of wax was sitting in a pool on the floor when I found it. I did the best I could to slop up most of it but it must have leaked through the carpet and into the padding underneath. That area of the floor is very hard and I’m not sure how to get to it besides pulling the rug up. Is there a company that offers repair/cleaning service for things like this without replacing the whole carpet?

This is a very difficult issue your dealing with. Fortunately padding is cheap. I would suggest that you cut the wax out of padding and replace the padding. Put the carpet back over it and step on it.

What is the proper way to make sure Chevy service department actually repairs vehicle?
I am filing a claim with the BBBAutoLine concerning my 2005 Chevy Equinox which has numerous problems. I must go through the BBB Arbitation (which is paid for by the manufacturer!!) before I can hire a lawyer to defend my claim. My car is at the shop as we speak to get the carpets changed due to numerous unexplainable water leaks. The Service Manager has lied several times such as telling me my carpet not have padding underneath it (it was beginning to mildew and smells awful) and they have also lied regarding the cause of the leak there is something seriously wrong with my car but they have done everything in their power to make it more difficult for my claim including lieing on repair orders and telling me it is all my fault. Therefore, I want them to show me the carpet after they remove it and any other parts which are replaced so I can verify the work was actually done and show eveidence my car actually has a problem. Should I hire a mechanic to watch or should I be present?

You can go to another chevy shop you dont have to use the same one your waranty is nation wide also if you think they are not doing the repairs you could go to ford shop or any shop that is ASE certifed and have them check it mark the part with a UV light after chevy dose the repair to check that they did the repair as to the water leak I would say it was the heater hose and leaked behind the fire wall into the pasanger floor board any ASE shop could have marked the hose before the repair and checked it after same with almost any part .

I feel completely lost! I own a home service business that began to grow. Good thing, right?
Well the problem is that once it began to grow, I needed to add staff, get a bigger office, more vehicles, etc., etc. What started off as a small home based cleaning and home repair service branched off into new home construction. Good, right? Well, I took my attention off my home services business to concentrate on construction. I built a home that is now on the market to be sold but I’m sure you can guess how well that’s going. Anyone in the market for a 500k house in downtown Austin, Texas??? So now I’m going back to my roots and trying to redevelop my home service business. I’ve been cleaning carpets, repairing water heaters, climbing on roofs…anything to get the bills paid. My issue is that I loved to construction process. Designing homes with the help of architects, meeting with tradesman, picking out finish materials. I’ve been thinking about going to school to get some type of degree in this field. It just feels like I’m so far away from doing another project because of lack of financial backing. I’m trying to stay motivated to keep working my small service business but I’m just not making enough. House payments, car payments, bills. Overwhelming! If you were me, what would you do???

First, i would review my expenses with an eye to cutting back on cost; second, i would concentrate on home service and maybe home repair. Since people would definitely be repairing their houses instead of building new ones given the state of the economy. The housing situation is definitely down. You might take advantage of the doldrums by getting that degree you were thinking about. You might look into enlarging your geographic coverage in the hope of getting more business. You can also look up government and institutional clients which may give you building repair contracts. Concentrate on your core competencies and keep it up.

Mobile Auto Interior Repair advertising??
How would you suggest advertising for a mobile Auto Interior Repair service? I own a business that repairs leather, cigarette burns and virtually anything plastic or vinyl that’s broken in a vehicle. Even carpet damage and odor neutralization. There are plenty of competitors here in the AV area but none offer complete local mobile service. My biggest accounts in the SF Valley area were body shops accident damage. What suggestions can you give for the least amount of advertising $.
