How can I get contracts for my New Carpet Cleaning Business?
Do any one have any ideas or suggestions on how I can go about getting new contracts for my new Janitorial business? I offer carpet cleaning, residential and commercial cleaning, move in/move out cleaning. Should I do cold calling to different businesses? Flyers? How can I go about putting a proposal for companies to bid on my company to clean for them? Help Me out people.

admin answers:
You might as well forget the Internet because it’s global – you need to target your efforts locally. This is best done in the newspaper, direct mail, and cold calling. Here’s an idea:
Call the business and get a price quote from THEM instead of the other way around. You’ll find out what price YOU need to charge to get their business that way.

What do I need to start a carpet cleaning business?
Me and a friend would like to start a small carpet cleaning business. We would like to clean homes locally since we live in a small town.
1- What equipment would we need and how much is it?
2- What cleaning products do we need?

admin answers:
You should learn the business/industry before you try to start a business in that sector, if even it means being an employee for awhile.
Use this basic checklist to make sure all the important steps are taken before you launch your new venture. This business checklist will make sure that you cross all your t’s and dot all your i’s before your business launch.

Is it illegal to have a carpet cleaning service without a license?
I have heard of people who have started their own carpet cleaning service to residential areas pretty much going door to door. I was wondering if I don’t advertise and don’t have a name am I still considered a business if I’m selling my carpet cleaning services to residents and do I need a license? I would like to be able to do it without having to pay for licensing and insurance and all that stuff.

admin answers:
You must have a license and insurance.people sue over anything these days and one small mistake in someones home can hurt you bad financially.I owned a cleaning company so i know first hand how easy it is to accidentally break something valuable or ruin a carpet Insurance saved my butt a few times!

Susan asks…
Where can I find a good carpet cleaning service around LA?
I live in an apartment in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Los Angeles.
I want to clean the carpet in just one of the rooms.
Should I just rent a Rug Docotor? Are those machines good? Or would it be better to just hire a carpet cleaning service?

admin answers:
Rent a Rug Dr. They work very well. Use the hottest water in it along with the solution. If you have stains pretreat them before cleaning using some of the clean steaming solution. When done cleaning go over the carpet again using 2 cups of white vinegar and hot water. This will remove any soap residue and odors. Pulling up on the handle slightly will put the front of the steamer into the carpet and extract more water.
