Carpet cleaning, is it worth investing 3000 pounds to start up a company?
I have looked into professional carpet cleaning, as I am not sure if it is worth investing 3000 pound in the equipment. Before buying deciding to buy the equipment is it worth advertising I have a company then look at the responses and if there are lots proceed to buy the equipment, is this a good way to start? And if I was to do this where would I advertise/promote myself?

In the UK the fashion is for laminate flooring not carpets, so don’t know where you will find the market. I had my carpets professionally cleaned recently and his equipment certainly never cost 3k. Is the equipment gold plated?

Dry carpet cleaners are used only for removing dust from carpet but to remove stains you need to use carpet steam cleaners.

Interpersonal marketing strategy for Carpet Cleaning?
I am looking for types of people to market to personally for my carpet cleaning company. Examples would be apartment complex managers, general contractors, facilities management at corporate offices. More ideas would be splendid. I feel like by securing just one to two contracts with a large apartment complex, I can make money in month 1.
Any suggestions? How I would go about finding these people?

Apartment complexes list a phone number on their “for rent” or “available” signs. Call the number, but better yet – stop by and see the manager. Introduce yourself and tell them why you would be better than the person doing the work now. They may have a maintenance person on the payroll and not need your services. But a lease you will get a feel for how it works and experience in promoting yourself.
In my area there are a lot of carpet cleaners. Some send fliers offering 3 rooms for $100. Or $25 a room – any size. I prefer to use the name brand I have always used even if it is a higher price, because they always do a good job.
