I live in Harris County, TX and I heard that by law you are supposed to get a free carpet cleaning every 6 mos?
We have been leasing a house for 2 1/2 years and we heard that by law in Harris County, TX the landlord is supposed to give you a free carpet cleaning every 6 months. Is this correct? Also, are they supposed to paint every so often also?

carpet cleaning whats best? shampoo, something home made that all natural?
I have two dogs, and I need to clean my carpets. what should i use any shampoo from the store? I hear it is not good for your carpet. is there something home made that would be better?

Depending on the color of your carpet vinegar works wonders. You just need to go back over it with regular water to make sure you get it all soaked up well. Liquid Tide with Bleach also works wonders and leaves a fresh clean scent. I have three kids so I’ve learned a little about carpet cleaning without having to buy actual carpet shampoo over every spill. Honestly it just doesn’t work well.

Should I start my own carpet cleaning and floor buffing business?
I was thinking about wanting to start my own business but am not really good at nything. I think it would be cool to start my own bussiness cleaning carpets and buffing floors and things of that business. What do you guys think? any other ideas for business starters?

Look in the Yellow Pages. You will have way too much competition in carpet cleaning. With floor buffing, you will have limited customers.
Try setting up a “gofer” business. Offer to run errands, do shopping, pick up cleaning and so on for people.
