When considering office cleaning, london having many offices of course and so there are many companies to choose from, it’s not just the regular variety but deep cleaning which must be thought about. By taking in to account both of these aspects, both the long term and the short term, you can be sure of getting the best possible clean.
Regular Routines
Before getting on to the deep cleaning, the regular chores which have to be carried out every day will first be recounted. It’s very important that this is done in addition to the less frequent one off regimes, otherwise the office will not always look as good as it should do.
Some of the things that should be done on a daily basis include vacuum cleaning, dusting, wiping workstations, cleaning desks and so on. Basically anything which gets dirty or untidy every day should be cleaned so that it looks good again.
Deep Routines
It might almost seem as if this should be enough. After all, if the place is always tidy then what else is there to do, really? The answer is to get the dirt which does not really make itself evident every day, but after about six months it is quite clearly there.
Places where this sort of slow build up takes place include inside desks and drawers, the insides of cupboards and door-tops. One of the main places, though, is the carpet, which requires different techniques to get the dirt beneath the surface.
Deep Carpet Cleaning Regimes
If vacuuming is the only type of cleaning that a carpet receives, then all that is every going to be picked up is the surface dirt, and the deeper dirt is going to be left untouched. The result of this is that the vibrancy and colour of a carpet is gradually diminished.
In order to restore the colour and vibrancy to a carpet, it’s necessary to perform a deep cleaning technique. They come in two basic forms.
- Steam Cleaning. This is the most effective way of cleaning any carpet. That’s because it uses detergent, mixed with hot water, and literally washes it. It’s the same principle that we use to clean most other things, from our clothes to dirty dishes. With carpets, the water gets right down to the roots because it is applied at high pressure. It is then sucked up again so that the carpet doesn’t get too wet.
- Problems with steam cleaning. While it is certainly the most effective way of cleaning carpets, that is because it is so intense. This means that with a delicate carpet it can actually do damage to it. And if it is used on a carpet where extracting the water is not easy then the water left behind at the roots could rot the carpet.
- Dry Cleaning Techniques. There are different dry cleaning techniques, all of which require some moisture ironically. There are the cleaning powders and granules which require you to first lightly spray the carpet with water. Then there’s the foam which is inherently moist.
- Problems with dry cleaning. While these techniques are completely safe with any sort of carpet, they are not as effective. While hot water extraction will clean all the way down to the roots, a dry cleaner will only tend to clean the top third of a carpet.
The Best Cleaning Routines
If you want your office to look good all the time you’ll have to employ both the regular and the one off cleaning regimes. As long as you establish a good routine and stick to it you should be fine.
